Harutaro Harukawa confessed to Megumi, a current University of Tokyo student who works as a private tutor, when he was in his third year of middle school. Expecting to be rejected because of their age difference, he learns that Megumi simply refuses to date anyone who has not made it to the University of Tokyo. Realizing that this means he has a chance, Harutaro decides to aim for the University of Tokyo. However, far from being a brilliant student, Harutaro is an extraordinarily foolish boy. Even so, he commits himself completely to studying. He studies wherever he can so that he can date Megumi, but an outrageous fate awaits him—one that will make studying the least of his concerns.
