Her new husband is the Duke of Obett, whose family is on the verge of ruin. On their wedding night, the handsome duke arrives in their bedroom with his mistress and declares that he will never love Rosemaria before leaving. Her husband already has a woman he has sworn to love forever. Unable to accept such a marriage, Rosemaria begins working toward a divorce and a new life. She eventually meets Eddie, a merchant, and starts building a future of her own while supporting struggling artists.
