Set in a Chinese-inspired world, Shunrin, a courtesan born with a distinctive mark on her abdomen, finds herself sold at a dark auction after being betrayed by the brothel where she worked. There she is purchased by Shutouri, the lord of Sujaku Domain, who has been cursed with immortality and has lived for a thousand years. He needs the legendary “Thousand-Year Celestial Maiden” to break his curse—and Shunrin is that woman. Shutouri wants to break his curse, while Shunrin needs food, clothing, and shelter, so the two enter into a contractual marriage. A Chinese-style love fantasy that begins with a contract marriage.
