After returning to her family home, she reunites with Haruta, a boy twelve years younger who used to live nearby. Now grown into a handsome young man, Haruta still remembers the promise they made as children: “Please marry me when we grow up.” Thus begins a twelve-year age-gap romance between a woman in her thirties who has lost her way and a younger man who has devotedly loved her.
